While working on Drawing out: Dobell Australian Drawing Biennial 2014, my colleagues and I visited the Dangar Island home of 2007 Dobell Prize-winning artist Ana Pollak. Ana is one of the most humble artists I’ve ever met, but her drawings of the Hawkesbury River speak with a presence that belies her gentle character.
